  • Delta Upsilon and Your Son

     

    You expect a lot from your son's college years--and you should. You want him to live in a safe environment, and have and outstanding education and excellent professional opportunities. You also want to see him have a chance to develop leadership skills, make lifelong friendship and create great memories.


    At Delta Upsilon, we understand. We've been building better men for 175 years. If your son is considering membership in Delta Upsilon, you should know that we too, expect nothing less than the best for him.


    That means no secret rituals, No hazing, No discrimination. Nothing but a positive experience designed to enhance your son's education and give him more than he ever expected from his college years.


    The Houston Chapter Encourages active participation from our parents, we regularly host a parent event each semester as well as being invited to your son’s initiation. Though you may only receive formal invitations to a few of our events parents are always welcome to visit the chapter house and come to any of our events.


    As we know many parents are sometimes just too busy or you live to far away to make it out to our chapter events. In order to keep up with all your son's accomplishments are chapter publishes a newsletter each semester; you can sign up to receive our newsletter below!

    •   Of the Nation’s 50 largest corporations 43 are headed by Greek alumni.

     

    •   85% of the Fortune 500 executives belong to a Greek organization.

     

    •   40 of 47 U.S Supreme Court Justices since 1910 are Greek alumni.

     

    •   76% of all Congressmen and senators belong to a Greek organization.

     

    •   Every U.S. President and Vice president, except two in each office, born since the first social fraternity was found in 1825 have been members of a fraternity.

     

    •   A U.S Government study shows that over 70% of all those who join a fraternity/sorority graduate, while under 50% of all non-fraternity/sorority persons graduate.

     

    •   Over 85% of the student leaders on some 730 campuses are involved in the Greek community.
